Bent County is located on the Arkansas River and the Purgatory in Southeast Colorado. These rivers provide water for irrigation, recreation and wildlife. The Santa Fe Trail traverses the north side of the Arkansas River and lies parallel to US Highway 50. This is country life, but convenient to large cities.
